the declining winter / isnaj dui split 12″
This is RC071 and RC072, a split 12″ LP edition of 200 out September 2015 (sold out)
Only a short while after the ‘Home For Lost Souls’ release on Home Assembly, The Declining Winter now bring a short but sweet EP to Rural Colours. Exploring a swifter, more spontaneous way of working than its predecessor, ‘The Leaves In The Lane’ consists of seven off-kilter pop songs recorded in a remote cabin near Kirby Lonsdale in Cumbria. Using acoustic guitar and vocals and with very few overdubs involved, the songs remain raw and evocative, producing a rather wonderful sonic postcard.
Gracing the other side of our split release is Rural Colours mainstay Isnaj Dui. Usually associated with the sound of the flute, this release sees the focus shift to the cello. Alongside Isnaj Dui’s trademark electronic clicks and bleeps, the deep yet fragile sound of the cello is used to produce two contrasting pieces exploring texture and rhythm.
